October marks Downtown Indy’s annual State of Downtown. Data collected throughout the year on crime, office occupancy, completed projects, tourist and recreational activities are culled and evaluated. The State of Downtown is the vehicle we use to share its conclusions.

Important to every resident, visitor and business is the safety of Downtown. Safety is both perception and fact-based. Perceptions of danger can negatively impact a commercial district despite facts proving safety. I’m happy to report that Downtown Indianapolis is perceived as safe and the facts support this reputation. Visually Downtown is clean, vibrant and attractive to tourists and city residents. So spread the word that Downtown Indy which offers the Pacers Bike Share, festivals, museums and numerous events is a safe place to live, work and recreate.
