Santa Claus is coming to Downtown Indy
Christmas may be weeks away, but Santa has already arrived in Downtown Indy! Don’t miss your chance to visit Mr. Claus at one of Downtown Indy’s top Santa destinations. Be sure to bring a camera and your Christmas list!
Unable to stop at one of these events? Send a letter through Santa’s Mailbox on the Circle (shown above). The mailbox is located on the east side of Monument Circle, facing Market Street. Santa will personally answer each letter (to the return address you provide). Letters can be sent through Thursday, Dec. 18.
Selfies with Santa
Head to Circle of Lights presented by the Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW #481 on Monument Circle Nov. 28 from 6 – 8 p.m. to watch Santa help light up Downtown. Then, walk over to Georgia Street between 8 – 10 p.m. for FREE Selfies with Santa. There will be hot chocolate, coffee, donuts and cupcakes available for purchase.
Peek at holidays past
After making their grand entrance to town via helicopter, Santa and Mrs. Claus will mingle with visitors of the Indiana State Museum through Dec. 24. Children can ride the Santa Claus Express, take a look at holidays past in the recreated L.S. Ayres store or make crafts.
Rowdie Claus returns
Indianapolis Indians mascot Rowdie will make his annual appearance as Rowdie Claus on Dec. 20 at Victory Field. Kids will love the free hot chocolate, snacks and crafts.
Bon appetite
Bring your appetite and Christmas list to The Children’s Museum for Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 6, 7 and 14. Then visit their Lilly Theatre for A Seussified Christmas, a reinvention of Dickens’ Christmas story in wacky rhymed couplets.
Mingle with Mr. and Mrs. Claus
Santa’s workshop at the Indianapolis Zoo is open for FREE visits with Mr. Claus himself through Dec. 30. Or grab a cup of hot cocoa and head over to meet Mrs. Claus. Help her decorate cookies in her holiday-themed kitchen. Photo packages are available for purchase.
Tap-dancing Santa
Watch Santa put on his tap-dancing shoes at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s IPL Yuletide Celebration Dec 6 – 23. Highlights include music from Disney’s Frozen and pop holiday hits like “All I Want for Christmas is You.”
Hustle with Santa
Get into the holiday spirit at the Santa 5k Hustle and Marathon at White River State Park on Dec. 21. Each participant is provided with a FREE Santa hat, beard and a dri-fit sweatshirt to sport during the hustle and the after party.
