Dr. John Lechleiter is the CEO of Eli Lilly and Company, Downtown’s largest employer. Plus, he and his wife are Downtown residents. So he knows a thing or two about what makes Indy such a vibrant city. That’s why John can’t wait to show off the urban core to the top talent his company recruits. He knows a vibrant Downtown does wonders to win them over.

Whistle while we work

All of the groups we partner with help keep Downtown a great place to work. From safety patrols by the City’s off-duty police officers, to those who sponsor or volunteer for Downtown beautification efforts, partnerships like these are why Indianapolis was recently ranked by Forbes as one of America’s 20 Best Cities For Young Professionals.

A place to call home

Our Find an Apartment tool is a must for any new resident moving to Downtown, and we’re a resource for connecting Downtown real estate agents for those looking to purchase instead of rent. Beyond that, we’re always informing members and Downtown residents of construction and traffic alerts, so getting around Downtown is easy.

Work hard, play hard

Of course it takes more than beautiful flowers and housing options to win over the best recruits. They need to see:

  • Restaurant options – Downtown has nearly 300 establishments to eat and drink, defining Indy’s “emerging restaurant scene” according to Bon Appetit.
  • Things to do – From festivals and Cultural Districts to world-class sports events and historic monuments, Downtown has it all.
  • Ways to get there – Walk, bike, drive or take the bus. We make it easy to navigate Downtown like a local.

As you can see, there’s a lot that goes into making Downtown a great place to work. But it’s all worth it. Because John will tell you, a vibrant Downtown only makes his job easier.

We’re Downtown Indy, Inc. The people behind the place.
