As a real estate agent and home fanatic, I had been anxiously awaiting Indy Rama. It exceeded my expectations. I was able to view five spectacular homes that were either newly constructed or significantly rehabbed in five of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. Each home was staffed with key players in the construction of the home. They were excited to showcase their work, willing to share their expert knowledge and open to all questions. Let me walk you through my day at Indy Rama.

Downtown’s home tour, Indy Rama, showcased five fully-landscaped and staged homes in four Downtown neighborhoods.
The first stop on the tour took us to Holy Cross to 1159 Marlowe Ave, designed and constructed by The Re-Development Group. This three-level home uniquely utilizes every square inch of space with a three-tier closet system that can be converted into a future elevator to accommodate aging in the home. This three bedroom, 3.5-bath home also includes high end finishes, high energy performance building practices and professional landscaping. The spacious second level deck provides spectacular views of the Downtown skyline and Highland Park. For a girl that loves to enjoy the outdoors, the dual decks attached to this home were the primary selling feature for me.

This home is tucked away on Downtown’s eastern border in the Holy Cross neighborhood. Residents of Holy Cross benefit from the warmth of the suburbs with a beautiful, unobstructed view of the Indianapolis skyline.
Our next stop was Fall Creek Place to view 2439 Broadway Street constructed by ZMC Urban Homes. We drove down the tree-lined street to this bright, urban home. The focal point in this four bedroom, 3.5 bath home is the contemporary five-foot fireplace surrounded by built-ins. I could see myself spending many winter nights huddled around the fire! The master bathroom is equally noteworthy with the garden bathtub enclosed within the shower doors. Finally, the lower level is any child’s dream with a built-in playhouse. The spacious back yard leading to the three-car detached garage creates ultimate privacy.

Located on the north side of Downtown, Fall Creek Place is home to many families in the Indianapolis area.
The next home was a historic renovation at 1815 N Alabama Street in Herron-Morton Place by Trade Design Studio. The original cottage was completely renovated to fit the needs of a modern buyer. A basement was added during renovations. With an open floor plan, high end finishes and reclaimed materials throughout, this five bedroom, four bath home was my favorite. A large back patio leads to the carriage house over the three-car garage.

This home is located in Herron-Morton Place, a thriving neighborhood with a rich history on Downtown’s north side.
The final stop for the day was in Chatham Arch to view two Park 10 townhomes. Both townhomes had nine-foot ceilings, cathedral ceilings in the master Bedroom, large closets and an open floor plan. Plus, all the details buyers look for: walnut finishes, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, an attached two-car garage and large patios. My favorite part? It’s located within steps from Mass Ave.

Park 10 is located in the Chatham Arch neighborhood and offers one, two and three bedroom condos and townhomes.
If you were unable to attend Indy Rama this year, I would certainly mark your calendar for next year!
