Give Dad the gift of Downtown excitement June 16-18. From festivals to active experiences, there’s something to delight everyone this Father’s Day weekend.

Get festive  

Juneteenth at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art

The Eiteljorg’s annual Juneteenth event commemorates the emancipation of African Americans in the Confederate South. On Saturday, June 17 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., enjoy music, performances, demonstrations, food and more.

Talbot Street Art Fair in Herron-Morton Place

Ranked one of the finest fairs in the country, the Talbot Street Art Fair allows patrons to explore the works of more than 270 artists. Journey around the fair Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m and Sunday, June 18 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

INDIEana Handicraft Exchange at the Harrison Center for the Arts

Contemporary artwork and crafts, live music, local food, craft beer and more make for the perfect way to spend Saturday, June 17. Vendors include some of Indiana’s favorite names including t-shirt producers United States of Indiana. Also alongside the art fair, the Independent Music + Art Festival features 12 local bands on two stages plus brew from Sun King Brewery.

Brew Ha-Ha outside Phoenix Theatre

Head to one of the city’s best beer fests Saturday, June 17 from 3 – 7 p.m.  Enjoy unlimited craft beer samples from local breweries at this outdoor block party on the 700 block of North Park Avenue. Tickets are $35 in advance, $45 day of, $55 for VIP and $10 for designated drivers.

El Dia de La Familia in Military Park

Enjoy a full day of Latin foods, music and family fun Sunday, June 18. The annual festival features a kid’s area, beer garden and more.

Turn up the tunes

Zoolapalooza at the Indianapolis Zoo

The Zoo kicks off the Friday night summer concert series with My Yellow Rickshaw June 16 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. The concerts feature a different menu of specialty food items and a full bar.

Groovin’ in the Garden at Easley Winery

Easley Winery offers free concerts every Saturday from 2 – 5 p.m. as part of their Groovin’ in the Garden concert series. Catch Party of Two Saturday, June 17. Bonus: The winery will also let you have food delivered from a favorite restaurant.

Live music in the Rathskeller Biergarten

Grab a German brew and listen to live music outside at the Rathskeller Biergarten. The Tiptonians and The Doo! perform Friday, June 17 and The Elect perform Saturday, June 18.

Games and activities galore

Heroes for the House Run on the Downtown Canal Walk

Participate in the 11th Annual Heroes for the House 5K Saturday, June 17. The run takes off from the NCAA Hall of Champions at 8:30 a.m. Families can also bike, walk, stroll and participate in the Rookie Run.

Invoke Studio’s Outdoor Yoga at the Indiana War Memorial 

Dads can downward dog for free Sunday, June 18. This outdoor class is starts at noon and is a $15 investment for the rest of the family. Don’t forget a mat.

Indy Eleven vs. North Carolina FC at Michael A. Carroll Stadium

Head to “The Mike” for Indy Eleven vs. North Carolina FC Saturday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Mini Golf at the Indianapolis Museum of Art

Mini golf at the IMA is back! Try out the brand-new 18-hole course all weekend. From Africa to Utah, the course will take you on an outdoor family adventure.

Indiana Pacers 50th Anniversary, 1967-2017 at the Indiana State Museum

Take dad to explore 50 years of Pacers basketball in Legacy Theatre on Level 1 of the Indiana State Museum. The exhibit ends Sunday, June 18.

Indiana Fever at Bankers Life Fieldhouse

Take dad to Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Sunday, June 18 at 2 p.m. to cheer the Indiana Fever as they take on the New York Liberty. Tickets start at $13 for a great time cheering on your WNBA team.

Drink and dine in style

Indy Brew Bus

Take dad on a tour of multiple craft breweries in Indianapolis. Indy Brew Bus stops at four local breweries, spending about 35 minutes at each one. Participants can keep track of their favorites on a scorecard. Tours are offered Thursdays – Sundays and tickets are $30.

Tastings

Bring dad to Tastings for his favorite bottle of wine. On Sundays, the wine bar offers half-priced bottles of wine, brunch with a $5 Bloody Mary Bar and $5 Mimosas and live music at 6 p.m. Sit on the patio for a great Downtown Indy experience!
