Dust off your festival fanny packs – June kicks off the summer festival season in Downtown Indy! Mark your calendar for the June 9 – 11 – a weekend chock full of some of the best outdoor festivals Indy has to offer. Even better? All are free to attend.

June 9, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The 51st annual Christ Church Cathedral Women’s Strawberry Festival returns to Monument Circle to serve an estimated six tons of strawberries and 18,000 homemade shortcakes. Desserts range from $2 to $7 and are served until 6 p.m. (or until food runs out). More than 95 percent of the proceeds go directly to not-for-profit outreach groups. Nothing beats the Hoosier tradition of sitting on the Monument steps and eating a homemade strawberry shortcake al fresco.

Thousands of people will gather in the streets outside the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (near East and Stevens streets) to enjoy Italian food and beverages, live music and children’s amusement rides. Hint: bring your dancing shoes. Admission and parking are free and food tickets cost $1 each (with most food items requiring 3 – 5 tickets).

Italian food, wine and beer, live music and amusement rides will take over Stevens Street during Italian Street Festival.
